Jefferson and French's Lakes
I was more wet and cold then the fish but I got my first of the year.
Fished French's lake (lower) Saturday in the rain and snow. Caught the biggest yellow perch of my life. This thing felt like 4 lbs but was about a pound and about 8 or 9 inches. The lake is clear of ice and was moving very fast over the dam. Upper lake is about the same and both are very very clear. Went down to check out Jefferson, on Sunday. Ran into a very nice, friendly ranger, who gave me the lay of the lake. Ice is all gone, can fish from shore to the left of the boat ramp, but DO NOT cross the bridge. Lake is surrounded by private camp, car top boats ok Pic, perch, bass all hitting inside the cove, and over by the blow down. More infor email or Im |
