I caught a 4lb. smallmouth on Lake Erie using a half oz., double willow, white Strike King Premium spinnerbait.

That being said, I think any brand of spinnerbait will work. Use the colors to match the conditions, as well as the forage. And don't just cast and reel the bait back. Speed it up, slow it down, pump the rod, crash it into some structure, etc.

Chubs, Bad news, I am having a difficult time finding the painted blade spinnerbaits. It's like, its a thing of the past , or something. I know a few locals who builds them, but cannot get ahold of them yet.I like this design, can't locate my chartruese baits, but they are built the same way, everything is chartruese.I know I can get them built, just a matter of catching jeff home. i use rebs and some hart bleeding heart

(white with a red strand or two) most of the time, but also a firm believer in painted willow/colorado in chartruse, white, blk n silver, it looks like a small group of shad moving in the water, and I've caught my 3 biggest fish on it at 3 dif loactions (ky lake, brookville and the 8.23 pounder with denny at Middlefork)
I like rebs, they run true, and the smaller blade combo (col, + willow) along with unique skirts have put a LOT of fish in my hand, dennys too.
thanks reb!
heres a great spinnerbait for windy days, clear water, and vegetation

Here is a Fleck brand. The Winni specials are a good spinnerbait, they got weight to bring them back fast and yet stay down in the water. P N J

war eagle, hart, and booyah are my favorites. however there are a bunch more good brands out there and not to mention the homemade spinnerbaits that guys make (a lot of guys on here make some great spinnerbaits). there are times for big and small spinnerbaits, single and tandem blades, different colored blades and all colors of skirts as well. as i stated in an earlier post, i like to start with shad type colors (because fish will be able to find shad in all water conditions) and make adjustments from there. a good place to start is on cloudy or windy days use a white spinnerbait because the surface of the water will look white to the fish. and on sunny or calm days go with more sliver or clear colored skirts because the surface will look silver colored to the fish. you don't want the fish to get a real good look at a spinnerbait because it looks anything but natural, you want them to see just enough to know it's there. now night fishing or really muddy water will change my color approach a little but i usually start making color adjustments with blades first.

I have Rebs spinnerbaits.I don't fish them, because I don't want to lose them. Here is a Picasso, they catch fish very well, but the wire breaks on them , when you least expect them to.

I will always give credit where credit is due. Zooker gave me the idea for the blade sizes I use.
