Re: Booyah vs Terminator vs Leverage vs BPS vs All
I do admit that certain spinnerbaits do preform more effectively in certain situations than others. This is not due to brand name though. This is due to wire material, thickness, and blade type. A lot of people like booyah's right now because they are popular and thats it. They see the pro's using them so they go by a few and catch a fish or three on them and then swear by them. Well, it doesn't really work that way. Name brand doesn't mean a thing at all, unless you have the right blade set up, and are fishing them correctly in the right place. Unless someone can tell me what makes a booyah spinnerbait any better than most other top name brands then I will pass. I don't doubt the qualilty of these baits at all. I just would love to know the difference in booyah, and say a strike king. Head shape and skirt material are used reasons for new spinnerbaits. When I say used I mean every company known to man has used that same promotion. I have no doubt that booyah's are well built baits, and I am sure they will catch fish, but are they better than any others? I doubt it. Now that terminator has fixed their little problem with the blades slinging off, they are a very effective spinnerbait. They provide durability and vibration that others don't. I also like strike king. The only problem I have with strike king is the skirt keeper breaking loose after a lot of use. One of my all time favorites is the Hank Parker Classic. I think this was the start of a new spinnerbait resurgance. Lite wire, and increased vibration make this my all time favorite spinnerbait. The one thing I don't like about it is the durability. They do not last all that long. This is because of the one thing that makes it most effective. Its light wire. All in all there are a number of spinnerbaits in production right now that will catch fish in any given situation. It all depends on what type of water you fish, and what you have confidence in. Good fishing.

well,
I got to say that I just don't like Booyah's. I'm not brand bias. Mtbassman77, I really enjoyed reading what you had to say about this. I also love the Strike King Spinnerbaits alot too. Especially there mini's ones. |

Re: Booyah vs Terminator vs Leverage vs BPS vs All
I agree MT. Â*I don't think there is a dimes worth of difference in spinnerbait brands, assuming the quality of materials used is the same. Â*I don't think head design ammounts to a pinch of puppy poop. Â*You think a fish actually LOOKS at a spinnerbait head? Â*They see flash, they see wiggle, they go for it. Â*
A spinnerbait is a "reaction bait". Â*Fish don't really hit them feeding, they hit them out of reflex. (Same thing that let's a pitcher catch a hard line drive right back to him.) Â*I know you'll sometimes catch a fish that follows the bait for a while, but for the most part the bait just suddenly is in the fishes face and the only thing he knows to do it strike it. My favorite spinnerbaits are made by some guy locally. Â*I got no idea who he is, but he makes a good bait. |

I also agree brand names are useless in spinners. Every once in a while walmart has promo spinners for $1. I caught my first(only) 7lb bass on one.

Hey Cajun, I think spinnerbaits are more like a high fastball that a hitter can't lay off of. You don't get much time to think, its really close and moving fast so you just swing on a reflex.

ya think zooker[/quote] 8) Hmm... Let me think... Could be... Retriever. I have to admit, most of todays spinnerbaits are pretty good. I did get one bad on once. It was some godawful atrocity i got from B.A.S.S. a few years ago. If there was ever a truly horrible spinnerbait, this was it. It was an ugly offwhite with red glitter all over it, including the blade, and no matter what i did, i could NOT get this lure to run true. It would spin, run to the side, the blades would not turn half the time. I used it about 20 times, tring to get it right. I finally drove out to the woods and threw it as far as i could.LOL. And i have no idea why i used this many words to get my post done. :P Charles |

Re: Booyah vs Terminator vs Leverage vs BPS vs All
stets,
whats with you and strike king? I know some of the lures they make are pretty good, but why just stick with one company for all your tackle? I buy all different brands. I use culprit, zoom, yum, and the list goes on. Don't be biased against any other lures that you think will work well. |
