On a large body of water, will a bass 'migrate' to the shollowest end of the lake for the warmest water if it's miles from where it spends the winter months? Or will they visit the closest shallows they can find to feed and spawn?

I believe the smallies could possibly migrate to an extent, but I don't think the LM's are gonna move on a grand scale. The closet would be chasing schooling shad.

bass have no idea that there is a shallow area miles away from them. unless somehow, which is unlikely, they have ventured there on their feeding time. bass ussually stick to a pattern, they go along this pattern day after day on their feeding route. they stay in the usual area that they know, they have no way of knowing that their is a shallow end, they might know about a shallow area nearby, because they probally venture there for food. but thats it, they dont know about areas miles away. hope this helps.

Thanks guys. After I thought about this I kind of answered my own question coming up with the same answer mentioned above. Their not salmon so they don't head up the same stream where they were born to spawn etc. My bad!
