any of you guys ever used these? im not even sure if they could catch bass. reason i ask is, i bought the kit probably 15 years ago. (comes w/ all kinds of jig heads and a variety of colors)..never used 'em, tried 'em a few times when i first bought 'em but could never get the hang of 'em. been sitting in the plastic carrying case they came in at the bottom of my tackle box takin up space..

Re: the flying lure
Good Gosh O Mighty! That dern Flying Lure commercial had every fisherman I know hypnotized for years, they kept playing it over n over....prob about 1990.
I fell for it and bought some, its a jig head and hook along with a flat short plastic that falls AWAY from you instead of towards you, The gimmick on tv was that you go up to a tree and as you cast to the trunk that flying lure glided away from you instead of falling straight down or towards you. The advantage you ask? Supposedly if you could sight fish and spot the bass, the lure could be presented with a constant motion of going to its face just by the angler raising and dropping his rodtip. And of course it had about a dozen testimonials of people swearing by them. It was the dawn of the infomercial and everyone I know tried them on panfish and bass. I guess they work, its a novelty at best in my book. Hell a bass will hit a burger on a hook if its hungrey lmfao ;D |

Re: the flying lure
I never used any of them, but I can't imagine them not catching fish. After all, it's a hunk of soft plastic on a leadhead, a tried and true combination, that happens to fall a little differently.

Re: the flying lure
I got a pack like JB posted after a friend recommended them. Didn't work any better than a leadhead with a soft plastic.

Re: the flying lure
I'll give them credit, the lure does glide away from you. but whats the chances of a angler Â*making random
casts and being able to tell what direction the fish is in relation to the place the "flying lure" landed. They used to play these commercials for a hour before your fav. fishing show would come on and there was nothing else on tv but some kat selling romco crap lol |

Re: the flying lure
I saw the advertisement on tv and figured it was just some tv BS. I'm proud to say I'm not one of the many gullible anglers who fail for it.

Re: the flying lure
Years ago a freind of mine bought me the kit for a birthday present.I went fishing in a canoe with a buddy and he gave me crap the whole time until we came to a tree's root system that stuck out in the water. He pointed and told me to get to it,after 3-4 casts.Wammo,a 5 lber.enough said. After getting to shore and loading the canoe up,the kit had disapeared.Never to be seen again .
flippin4it P.s. I think he stole 'em |
