red and white
Red and white is a color seldom used by bass fisherman today, including myself. Interestingly many early fishing lures were painted red and white. This combination caught a lot of bass as many oldtimers can readily attest. Research has proven this combination puts many speices of fish including bass in an attack mode. I do however productively fish a lot of red and white 1 1/2" crappie tubes. Maybe it would be worth a try next time I can't catch any bass. Few products are sold in red and white. Bill Lewis sells a rattletrap in red and white.

Re: red and white
Johnson's beetle spin has a white grub with a red dot that i use on occasion. It works okay, i prefer the blk with the yellow stripe. I catch much more fish with it, although i do use the blk/yellow more often.

Re: red and white
I have to disagree with you. I use red w/ white tiki stiks on a regular basis, most widely used spinnerbait for me Strike King bleeding bait in white, also have 6" Lizard white w/ red tipped swirl tail. These are in my tackle box everytime I go out. 8)

Re: red and white
I don't use red and white anymore. But it seems that when I started in 1969, the conventional wisdom was that the two best colors were yellow and red and white and most of my early lures were those colors.

Re: red and white
if you go to a bps or cabelas, notice how alot of those big crankbaits for offshore fishing are clown colored. that color is alot better for saltwater inshore and offshore then it is for freshwater imo.

Re: red and white
i've been thinking about buying a few lures in red/white just because of the fact that years ago it was the hot ticket.the bass get used to seeing what we have been doing as of late so maybe some of those old color combos would get them to hit a little better being as they haven't seen them in years and todays fish weren't even bourn when they were using those colors.
