Going BASS fishing

I been bass fishing for a lil while now. First few times bass fishing, I learned to be patient. After a few trips, I got to know the lake I was fishing and was able to get 4-7 fish (ranging from 1-4 lbs). Unfortunately, what works in one lake doesn't necessarily work in all the lakes. Well, being pretty new to bass fishing, I have been trying lots of different lures and bait. I decided I like fishing with plastics, so that's what I''ll be trying.

I've attached a picture of what I currently have for lake fishing. Am I on the right track?

I almost forgot. I've had luck with powerbait worms in the past. The other rubbers you see are Berkley bladedancers. I've only used them on two trips, but I caught a 4lb LMB with one of the bladedancers.

I just recently got the Senkos and Tiki sticks, I been hearing so much about 'em, I decided I need to try 'em out. I'll be using 'em this saturday....hopefully I can come back here and post some follow up pictures of my catches! Â*;D

Anything else I should add to my tackle box?

You need much more than that, I'd beef up those crankbaits, get some bigger ones that dive deep,
Also you need some spinnerbaits, buzzbaits ,jerkbaits,
top water stick baits, popR's..
You do have a real nice start tho

Ask around what crankbaits to get for your area,
names like rapala, bomber, and many others are needed in natural shad colors, firetiger colors for cloudy days,
As well as you need some Rattle Traps by Bill Lewis,
a lipless sinking rattling bait...
now , dont forget to stock up on some line, 14-17 lb should do good for ya

Oh hell yea you'll catch'em! Senkos, Tikis, jigs, cranks, spoons, and some other pretty good stuff. If you dont catch them on one thing try another. You sure have enough stuff to do that. I do suggest one thing tho. Throw a buzz bait in the for when it starts to get dark. You'll have fun with them. There my favorite all time lure!

looks great...altho i would add jigs(alot of people only use them in cold water....but i have found jigs to be very versitile) and spinnerbaits....and some more topwater....and some more crankbaits...i also cant tell if those are tubes down there in the right bottom corner? if they arnt...i would suggest tubes...and more 'u' tail or curly tail worms....and some brush hogs...i know you said you want to go with plastics....but alot of times other lures will catch fish when plastics wont....as you can see the list will go on.....so just pick up what you need as you go.....theres still alot you need to purchase...but for now what you have will do 8)

NJBassDevil - This is ALL I currently have for lake fishing.

Btw Bassfisher02- the plastics on the right are TUBES. I've also had some luck catching LMB with those, so I just picked up some more.

I really haven't had much luck with crankbaits, spoons and spinnerbaits, I guess that's why I'm more inclined to stick to platics. (since I've caught fish with them) I do want to have enough things so I can got at 'em with everything, any specific ones you would recommend?

JB- There sure is alot more stuff out there.
This is starting to become an expensive habit of mine. I'm always looking at lures and fishing stuff while at work....there's no telling what else I'll have by next week! ;D

Clay - Thanks for the welcome! What kind of buzz bait should I look for? Any specific brand, model? I don't think I even know what a buzz bait looks like. Sorry, I'm kind of a noob!

Just about anyplace that sells tackle-look for a Rat-L-Trap. I know just about every WalMart carries them.

i like strike king, booyahs, and other brands like that......they do good when the topwater bite is on.....mostly low light conditions

JB, how often do you throw that Rayburn Red? I throw them in the spring, but that is about it.

Yeh I'm also kind of new. I like using Black/silver/orange Chug poppers in morning. During the day i cast Watermelon Lizards 6-8 inch in my cove at Lake Fork it works pretty good.

This looks similar to the Popper i use

Yea, a buzzbait's blade runs on the top of the water and shots the water around like an egg beater. When a bass hits you will see a slash and the buzzbait wont be there anymore. They hook themselves some times but i like to be safe than sorry. I use the buzzbait numbered 002-A in the picture. Like PowerBass says "rippin lips one fish at a time"!!! I accually lost a 15 pound blue fish in the ocean today. I tied a regular fishermans noat but that only held him on for about 30 seconds. I could barely hold the rod. It felt like my rist was goin to break. Well the noat slipped on me and thats that. Can do any thing about it now so why worry about it right? Oh well. I'll gettem next time!

I used to think think that was the big time bite down on ky lake in spring too, but I kept throwing it all last summer up here and it worked great,
I lost it on a steel cable and haven't found one yet, I guess I should go to bass pro..I'll pick half dozen of them up..prob the jimmy houston brand...it has a dif slope to the back than a rattletrap, plus i luv the burnt orange red color
