Berkly Powerbait

Does anybody use berkly powerbait? I was at a friends house today, and we went to his neighbors house,they have a couple small farm ponds, and i tried everything in my t-box, cranks, spinners, rat-l-traps, flukes, tiki stiks, and i just remembered i bought a pack of Berkly Powerbait. (This is my first time using this) So i threw one on with a 3/8 oz. bullet weight, and a 3/0 hook, and threw it in, and on my first cast i landed a nice 2.5 lber, and later in the day a 5lber!!! The other fish in this pond include flathead cats, pike, walleyes, perch, bluegills, and american eel. Does anybody else have luck with powerbait?? What colors? By the way, I was using a 6" Power Worm in Watermelon/Red Flake.

i always used the gue for trout,but thats different.good catch,never heard of a small pond with that many fish.actually,never heard of pike in a pond.

I like Powerbait plastics a lot. They have a good scent, and a very soft feel, which IMO translates into fish holding on longer. My alltime favorite worm is the Pulse worm, which they only make now in 4" size, or a 3" drop shot bait. I buy the Powerbait lizards as often as I buy the Zoom lizards.

As far as Powerbait goes I like the 7" Bungee worms t-rigged with a 3/0 hook. I am not a believer in scents/bass attractors at all, and I never use them, I just like the shape of the Bungee worm. I believe the action you give the bait is the real bass attractor, and sure some say that scents help the bass hold the bait longer, but I never give a bass the chance to decide if it taste good or not.

yes they shipped them in from somewhere, they also have a fish farm in their barns that house everything from perch to walleye and bass, people can buy tyhis stuff for 10 bucks a pound, and they do a very good business.
I am seriou about the eel too ive seen some of them.

they are a slimy booger with fins..lol used to catch them at times in the buffalo harbor.

It all really depends on body of water and the day. Here recently I've been using Berkly powerbait 7 inch motoroil color power worms. Working pretty well, but also where I'm located the bass have started to spawn. I actually caught the same largemouth three times in about 2 hours with a Strike King Black with red/green flake tube. The 3in. and 4in. Yum dingers work here really well. We use pearl white/silver flake in Greenbriar River to catch small mouth, went last year using nothing but those Yum Dingers and between three of us in 3 days caught around 135 smallmouth. But in a little merkier water for largemouth we've been using the 3in. Tum dinger Watermelon pearl lam. Works really well.

7" Power worm in Green pumpkin, Red Shad, Black Shad, and Black. Also the Lizards work great, the 5" beast I've had good luck with in Green Pumpkin, and most of my soft plastics are.

I've had the pleasure of fishing with BassinBob. On a very tough, windy day up here in Pittsburgh, the Berkley Chigger Craw was the only thing that was working for us. Great bait.

I've had great luck with powerbait. Yesterday I landed a nice 5 pounder with a black/blue flake 6" worm. By the way, thats quite a variety of fish for a small farm pond

Sounds like a mighty nice pond.... I know toms favorite bait of all time is powerbait. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but I'll use it from time to time.

I'm a firm believer in power worms, I don't know if they attract more fish but I do think fish hold onto them longer. Save your torn up worms and use the shortened pieces as trailers on jigs and see the difference of how the fish holds the jig.
