Default Spring time bass fishing???

Well now that spring time is finally here, and the bass are finally spawning up here, i was just what some of the best lures to use for open waters are? The water clarity is somewhat murky with a rock bottom? Cranks or Soft Plasitc?

If I'm not mistaken you are from Ohio? And as JB already said the spawn isn't happening that far North yet. As for open water baits, well take your pick. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwaters, etc... You can always use plastics, but unless you aren't catching them a good shad colored bait(or whatever baitfish they have there, match the colors). If you aren't having any luck, with the faster moving stuff, try a Storm Swim bait, or drop shotting to the suspending bass. A Fluke is a great choice if you want to use plastics. And a fluke can be deadsticked or twitched across the top of the water.

Try early May for this years spawn in northern ohio is my guess, and once that spawn happens you can pick up bass on about all lures, its trying to pinpoint thier migration is what the challenge will be, in other words are they bunched up deeper now recouperating?
following shad? all of the above buhler? lol
