Default BFL Tanner's Creek Ohio River(Buckeye Div.)

Well I thought all my luck was used up when the night before I drew #1 boat out of about 131 total boats Anyway takeoff was @ 6:30 am. The weather has been steady with no rain in the last week, with the temps in the upper 80's to lower nineties. The temp at takeoff was about 65 degrees, with a slight breeze and clear skies. We went to the place the boater liked, and he began to throw cranks and a pitch a 4" finesse worm with a ball jig head on it. I started out throwing the "BUZZBAIT" I got a nice keeper after about 20 minutes ;D ;D So now the pressure is off, so I can just relax and fish. So about 30 minutes later I get a second solid keeper 8) The boater now ties on a Buzzbait. The boater had been getting a few bites on his finesse worm, but no fish in the boat. Probably just bluegills. We kept fishing this location till about 12pm with us changing up to flipping, spinners, buzzbaits, cranks, and Mojo rigging. The boater had a "PIG" hit his finesse worm, where I could see it in the shallow water shake out the hook. It was probably 5-6 lbs :'( He got several other bites on his finesse worms. I did get one other bite on a Mojo rigged 4" Pulse worm, and went to set the hook, and came up without the worm So we moved to several locations before the check in time of 2:30PM. We were fishing a dock, where he literally had us T on the end of it with himself fishing the shoreline side, and me fishing the boat side. I had a short strike on a buzzbait so I threw out a fluke as a back up with no takers. So I started cranking around the docks and as I was about to raise my rod tip to recast(crank about three feet from the rod tip) a nice approx 3lber comes out grabs it from under the dock I raise the rod tip, and only have the crank attached no bass :'( I ended up tied for 9th place, my first top 10 out of 4 tries 8) For the second time out of four I beat my boater I actually will get a little check :-* Pretty much paid for the tournament for me though 8) The temps at 2:30pm when we got back to the dock was 88 degrees. There were a few clouds but mostly just clear skies all day. It was a tough tournament for most everyone. The winning weight in the non-boater division was 3 fish, 5lb 14 ozs. That just means that one at the end of the dock would have won it for me > OH well all in all a great day to be fishing. And I did well. Hope everyone else caught some this past weekend. Total for me was 2 fish 3lbs 3ozs.
