it's getting harder and harder to find Excalibur Tungsten weights in the stores. Bass Pro doesn't carry them anymore and alot of places with online ordering have had them listed as "on backorder" for some time now. Is Excalibur going to discontinue them? I prefer them over all the other tungsten weights I've seen because they are the only ones with the flared plastic sleeve to protect your line. I've tried the others, but none have protected the line as well as the Excalibur weights. If anyone has heard anything on these weights I would greatly appreciate any info.

You can always buy them from the manufacturer at an inflated price if you want.

I have already ordered some from an online source, but was just wondering if the were being phased out. If that would be the case I would order a bunch to stockpile them.

Boltzie, Its good to see you here again. I used to use these until excaliber weights were easier to find. These weights also have a plastic sleeve in them. They were widely available at first then they too have been difficult to find. P N J http://www.lakeforktackle.com/idea1_...3&class=47

PnJ,
I've still been around, just not posting much. I only post when I have something to say that will help someone. As far as the weights go, I have some of the Lake Fork Megaweights, but the inserts in them suck. That's why I've been trying to get my hands on the Excaliburs. My stock of the Excalibur weights is dwindling so I guess I'll have to stockpile them while I can just in case. Scott |

Quick answer to this one. They didn't sell. If they did they'd still stock them.
If you like 'em, stock up on 'em. |

PnJ,
Thanks for the link to NBS webstore. I hadn't seen that one yet. Cajun, I don't think it was a matter of the product not selling. Everytime I went into Bass Pro they kept telling me they couldn't keep them on the shelves they were selling so fast. I know BPS most likely discontinued carrying them due to the fact that they just came out with their own line of tungsten weights for 2005. Scott |

You may wish to try the "Tru Tungsten" weights.
They have no sleeve in the center. These baits are polished inside to defray from damaging the line. The plastic interferes with the senstivity of the weight. |
