Default you guys hear about that catfish ?

caught on the mississippi earlier this week. not sure if it was a national story or not. since the guy who caught it was from illinois 124lb blue cat new world record.. i know its not a bass, but its still fishing related

**** just last year they broke the iowa channel catfish record in the river to i should go down and fish it i live an hour away from it.

Yeah I live on the Mississippi in Southeast Missouri. A LOT more people catfish down here instead of bass fishing. I am one of them, got my big ole river rods Fun stuff.

yea catfishin is fun, havent done that in a long long time, those channel cats put up a pretty good fight from what i remember

Unfortuneatly it died before they could ship it to Kansas City. It was gonna be realeased back into the Mississippi later this summer.

hate to bursts your bubble.... there was one over seas some where was bigger weighed more they tried to revive it the catfish died so they at it, it was on the news

You can catfish many different ways. You can let the bait sit on the bottom, you can rig kind of carolina deal where the sinker hits the bottom and the bait suspends. You can also use floaters to fish suspended. Then, you can troll, use current, all sorts of things. Use a live bluegill and let it swim around

angelus, i hate to bust your bubble, but that was a giant mekong catfish caught in the delta of vietnam....it was however acredited as the largest freshwater fish, although there are stories of sturgeon reaching much larger sizes than that...this here is a world record for blue cat...lol...just
