Default 1993 Nitro 190DC

Hello all. I am thinking about buying a 1993 Nitro 190DC. I can get this boat for a good price. It has a 1993 150HP Merc XR6 on it. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything that might be wrong with either the boat or motor. Please email me if you can help. Positive comments also requested. Thanks-- Rob

Rob. Go to and post your question there in the Nitro forum. You'll find a lot of help there from people who'll know those specific boats.

As for the engine, a Mercury XR-6 is about as close to bulletproof as an outboard motor gets. They have a great reputation.

Having said that, you'll still want to have it checked out by a good marine mechanic. Tell the seller you'll pick the mechanic. If the engine checks out ok, you'll pay for the check. If not, he has to. If he balks, run from the deal. Don't walk. RUN! You can figure about an hours labor for the check.
