Whats your opinion on a ML spinning rod and reel for throwing small crank baits?I was thinking about getting this setup but i would like to hear some of your opinions on it. What line would you recomend too?

I'd go with a M rather than ML, but that is just me-for small cranks like Strike King's Bitsy Pond Minnow that is a great setup.

Either. I have one of each, and I get more distance with the 6-6 but better accuracy with the 6'. Use whichever you are most comfortable with or which one feels best to you.

I think either a M or ML would serve you well. As to line, I'd use 6# or 8# in a low memory, easy-to-handle brand. I personally would choose Trilene XL or Original Stren. Since you're thinking about an ML, I assume you're not talking about heavy cover, and relatively light lines will be able to handle some sizable fish in open water.

I use baitcasting gear with all cranks. For the little cranks like the bagleys killer b1, normans crappie crankbait and baby N, I use a loomis CBR783 Crank bait series rod and a st. croix premier pc66mm. Both are 6'6" moderate action medium rods. I use shimano citica's or curado's with either one. I can cast the little baits as far with those as I can with any spinning rod, and more accurately. Line makes a difference too. on these I use original silver thread or the p-line flourocarbon xxx line in 12lb. test.
