Jig N Pig
What Jig N Pig combination has worked best for you?
Mainly the "Pig" part. What type of trailers do you use? Do you use trailers similar to the colors of the Jig? I have a blue/black Jig and currently have a Blue Zoom® Soft Plastic Trailers - Big Salty Chunk Also I've seen numerous ways to rig the trailer on the jig... Do you put it on all the way or have it stick out some? Any Comments about this? Thanks Chris |

black n blue or any combo of greens or browns
pitch into heavy cover plastic trailer for warmer water and pork for 50-60 degree waters , although either combo will work anytime |

I normally match the color of the trailer with the jig. I have had alot of luck with the zoom fat albert twin tails. As for colors i like all mentioned above.

Green Pumpkin, and Green Pumpkin. I always try to match the trailer. I like Yum chunks, and Netbait Paca chunks. I rarely use pork. I add scent as needed, and really haven't found pork to be any more productive. Plus it's a real pain in the butt.

For colors I match it to the jig. For trailers-I use the water temperature to decide what to use. In warm water-75 and up-I like a trailer with a lot of movement. I usually use the bottom half of a brush hog or baby brush hog depending on the size of the jig, and I have a buddy who uses a 6 inch lizard or a Zoom Horny Toad. For water 50-75 I use a zoom chunk or something along those lines. Below 50 I use the real thing-pork.

when ya take the knife to make slices in the body of a pork trailer, they have lots of nice action, however like Lizards said, they are a pain in the arse to get off your hook , or ya have to keep it moist during gun n runs..I used to have a pork removal tool or would make the prepunched hole in the trailer bigger, and I too probably use plastics more often today cus of that

Booyah olive/brown - Yum Chunk(camo) Caught 3 between 5 and 6 lbs. on it in one afternoon last week. I use jigs about 75% of the time. My best jigs are the one mentioned above. I really like colors that are dark and natural. Let me give you a hint. When you arrive at your fishin' hole, walk the shore first and see if you can spot any crayfish by lifting up rocks. Match the color jig to the color of the craw you find. Remember, they are different colors at different times of the year and from one body of water to the next. Tight lines.....
