Default fishing in a pond

i bought a $40 inflatable 4 person coleman raft at walmart just for me and my buddies to play around with. i took it out on a local pond the other day and i had no luck untill i hit a small "hotspot" in at the in the far corner of the pond. i pulled out one after another of tiny 1/4 pound small mouths and a few perch. i know theres pretty large bass in the pond because ive seen people pull em out. i was wonderin if the larger bass would be in the same spot as the smaller bass and perch or in a different area

If there are little fish there, move away. Go find the spot where the big ones are. Remember the kid's table at Thanksgiving? Same thing. The adults are somewhere else.

Oh, and "like a 7 pounder." No. Show me a picture. You are guessing; guesses tend to be high. A lot. I might buy four.

the way i see it...you cant guess the fishes weight if you have never caught that weight before....for example: if you are guessing you caught a 7lb'er...and you have never caught a 7lb'er before...how do you know it was 7lbs? untill you officially weigh a 7lb'er, dont guess to high....round it down.
