need opinion
Hi Folks,
I would really appreciate your help and opinions. My boat was stolen and trashed a few years back. I have little use of a big bass rig so I now use a John boat, when I use a boat at all. Most of the time I fish from shore. I also have my equipment with me when I travel the roads of New Jersey. I like to stop along the road and fish likely looking spots off of bridges. I even got yelled at by the State Police for pulling off Rt.80 and fishing during a traffic jam. The cop was cool, thought I was nuts, told him no just a Bass Angler, his comment was same thing. Now the question Should I get one of those underwater cameras? I can afford it, but don't know if I want to spend the 200 for a toy. Has anyone used one or does anyone own one. How about you guys with the Billion Dollars Bass Rigs, do you think the camera would help? I've got one lake I have never fished before, and just can't wait for the ice out so I can get to that bridge. Sorry about the look post, my wife tells me I talk a lot. :-/ :-/ |

Re: need opinion
Welcome to the forum!
It might be good if you fish real clear water, but if the water has maybe 2 foot visibility it might not be very effective. Here in Texas gin clear water is pretty scarce-if you use a trolling motor and don't already have one instead of a camera I'd get a depthfinder and mount it on the bow with the transducer on the trolling motor. That way you can see what is right underneath you instead of 10+ feet behind you like you get with a transom mount transducer. |

Re: need opinion
A friend has one of the cameras and it's just like Rebbasser says...unless you have clearwater it doesn't work well. Â*A wide angle depthfinder would be good....at least a 60 degree cone.

Re: need opinion
Thanks Guys,
I guess I knew that, but needed the advice from friends to convince me I should not get it. |
