Re: fishing solo
I fish alone 2-3 days week. Some buddy tournaments also. Its my quiet time. Its good for your health..lol..Just take a Cell Phone in case you need it AND GET the number for the rental place incase the trolling motor runs out!

Re: fishing solo
I fish alone almost all of the time - other people tend to slow me down, destroy my focus, and otherwise get me off my game so to speak. You will be ok just take a cell phone, wear a life preserver if you get into any binds, stay away from dams (I mean that one), and bring a paddle as a last resort. If there is any current in the lake you fish, I recomend going against it in the morning and then returning back to the launch site with the current in the evening - this way if something happens to the trolling motor you will drift downstream eventually anyways.

Re: fishing solo
Yep I fish alone tons, just make sure folks know where your going, and cell Phone(that's charged and works), is #1, know the lake or State Laws. Life jacket is always required, and here, you must have a throwable seat cushion type floatation device. These should be obtainable from the rental place. But if you have a trolling moter don't you have a boat ??? Just don't be chugging the beer while your out And think about safety first. Theres plenty of time to fish, the season is just starting.

Re: fishing solo
This doesn't really matter cuz i always fish from banks but i almost always go alone. Plus i move around a lot and ppl can't stand trying to keep up w/ me. Cuz after about 10 casts i get bored of that spot and walk down the shore some more. Like every1 is saying though bring a cell phone. You'll b fine as long as it's not really choppy and u can't swim.

Re: fishing solo
I prefer to fish alone. Like WTL, I keep better focus and move at my own pace covering the areas I want, as long or little as I want. 8)

Re: fishing solo
I fish alone all the time. As far as the concentration thing goes, there are two people I knof of that I can go fishing with and still stay focused on fishing.

Re: fishing solo
95% of my fishing is my boat and me. I enjoy the time to relax and kick back. Only people I have to converse with is the occasional drive by. This also gives me a chance to try different ideas w/o someone going"What the heck are you trying to do?" 8)

Re: fishing solo
I love to fish, but alone is not as fun. I get more frustrated than anything else when im alone. since i dont have a boat it makes it tough. I love fishing with one other, that makes it fun. Just another person can make those times a little more fun. You can also show off the lunker you caught, and if you forget a camera, your partner backs you up. ha...good old days... ~discgolfer

Re: fishing solo
I fish alone 95% of the time. It's my solitude time and just being out in nature and on water gives me a high. I agree with most who said take cell phone, life jacket. Also, listen to radio for weather updates; as unexpected weather can pop up anytime.
