Re: funny question
I don't have any fishing "poles". I have fishing rods. You tie beans to a pole. You fish with a rod.

Re: funny question
Never forgot the rods and reels but my license once and live bait a couple of times. Went salmon fishing at lake Erie one fall and stayed overnight at my cabin. Well the night before we left for Erie my buddy and I stopped at a bar. They were closing down the bar for remoldling the next day and drinks were half price. Needless to say, we helped them close down the bar that night! This was about 30 years ago. We decided to go to Erie and wait till daylight to fish. I know, driving in that condition was a bad move. The other bad move was leaving my license at the cabin. We were woke up at dawn by a fish warden. I still wonder to this day if he smelled us that morning. We stumbled around getting our poles and tackle ready. I noticed I forgot my license. Seeing that the warden was still around I told him I forgot my license. He must have been in a good mood that day. He said go ahead and fish but stay around the marina where we parked so he would be able to check us later. He never came back. Fished all morning with the last hangover I swore I would ever have. Come to think of it , that was probably the last one I ever did have. Didn't catch any salmon but had a wooper of a hangover.

Never forgot the poles (rods). Have forgotten lunch, sunscreen, extra towels and junk like that. We have been out somewhere miles away from home, decided to go fishing and bought all new equip.

Re: funny question
There are 2 things I won't forget when I go fishing. My rods and my beer. Now sometimes I choose to leave the beer behind, but I won't forget it. I have left just about everything else at home at one time or another.
I have a rod and a few lures that stay behind the seat of my truck, just in case good fortune puts me where there is water when I didn't expect it. |

Re: funny question
As a matter of fact I have, left them beside the shed waiting to be loaded in the boat. I also got to the lake once and didn't have the boat key, it was in the other tackle pack. Another time time I took the batteries out to fill the cells with water and then charged them up out side of the boat and fogot to load then into the boat before going to the lake. :-[ P N J

Re: funny question
During a club tourney, I was so excited make the first tourney of the year, I didn't pull my tackle bags out of the boaters truck. I loaded the rods, life jacket, food and etc. I launched the boat and parked the truck. I ran back to the ramp (and I don't run anywhere) and we were off. The first place we stopped I noticed the tackle bags weren't in the boat. We boated two fish before we headed back to the ramp. A little glitch but it worked out. I don't do that anymore.

Re: funny question
Forget my gun once. (while hunting, not fishing !) Loaded up every thing else except what I really needed. Hard to hunt with no gun.

Re: funny question
I've never forgotten my rod and reel, but I did forget my tackle once. In the timeless words of homer simpson:
