Spinnerbaits
Any recommendations on good, quality, well-made spinnerbaits? I have some Terminators that have not held up well. The bead cracked on one and the split ring came apart on another. What is the "Lucky Craft" of spinnerbaits (good quality and a little costly)? Which brand is the "Rapala" (good quality but not too much money)?

Strike King for ease of purchasing, SOB if you want some really nice, custom made baits.

I like BOOYAH's and the Strike King Premier Plus w/ Perfect Skirt. Both are good (IMO) and won't break the bank.

Zooker does make a great blade.
A lot of people talk bad about the terminators, and I'll agree that the split rings are crap and they may tear up quickly - but they run pretty good. The Hank Parker classics are also a good spinnerbait. Hart makes a good spinnerbait.

Lots of good spinnerbait companies mentioned here. Most of the baits I fish I make but if I fish a store bought bait I go with Stanley vibra or wedge. They have a new bait with tunable wire. They cost much less than most have good swivels and great blades. I catch a lot of bigger fish with them.Fish2win

I use Secret Weapon spinnerbaits. They have interchangable blades and you can really tune in to what the fish want with a quick change of a blade, vice having to carry 20 different baits. They also have one of the sharpest hooks available.

Nichols, made in Texas, if you can find them. I've never had one break up on me, they use a gamakatsu spinnerbait hook, and have a bullet shaped head, great for grass, not as good in wood. Been using those since 92, and still about the same price. If not those, the Strike King KVD, and Pro series, seemed to be pretty good but I've already had the clevis break on one of those. The Nichols run 6 to 8 bucks each depending what you buy and where, and the high end Strike Kings run about 5 to 7 bucks each.

I like the 1/2 oz Ledgebuster smallmouth blades for largemouth on the river. Hildebrandt makes a nice one if you can find them. Hank Parker's are very good and hold up over time too. A couple locals used to custom make me mine so I don't buy many off the shelf. Both have stopped making them so I'm in search of a new custom spinnerbait maker.

You can dial up Hildebrant baits on the computor. I personally prefer an Okeechobee special.

I use Strike King because Wal Mart carries them and they run straight. I try and stick with something I can pick up off the rack. I live in a small town and unless you shop Wal Mart for baits, you're constantly ordering stuff which requires shipping charges and a 3 to 5 day wait. I can't get Booyahs to run straight. I gave up on them.
