different situations call for different presentations.....those are 2 different birds there...totally different setups, made for specific situations.

Re: Carolina Rig vs Texas rig
for deeper water....i like to use the carolina rig...for shallower water i like the t-rig. since there is bassically no deep water around here...i mostly use the t-rig...but sometimes you will find an area that will get 11-15', and i pop the c-rig out. i especially like to use it around deep cover.

Re: Carolina Rig vs Texas rig
i use a c-rig with a short leader during the post spawn period. normally rigged with a small 4" lizard. this rig makes you slow down and work the area a little better. t-rig is a staple of bass fishing i fish it round trres and docks or over rip rap banks fairly quickly.

Re: Carolina Rig vs Texas rig
It depends a lot on the type of cover ( wood or weeds ) the depth ( shallow or deep ) , the drop rate of the bottom you´re working and how the fish react to the bait. In thick woody cover the c-rig is less than ideal because the bait is far away from the sinker, the sinker goes through but the bait doesn´t; in thick weedy cover the T-rig is less than ideal because the sinker buries in the weeds taking the bait with it and the fish don´t see it, in steep sloping banks the T-rig carries the bait with it, the bait stays only for shorter period of time in the strike zone; if fish are sluggish or in negative feed mood the T-rig is just too fast moving.

Re: Carolina Rig vs Texas rig
I use a T-rig in and around cover since it is a vertical presentation. I use a C-rig to cover water since it is a horizontal presentation like crankbait . I like it on points and in creek channels, and when I'm fishing deeper water.

Iuse the T-rig most of the time ,but I'll use the C-rig as a deepwater structure search bait.
