Default Favorite Structure?

So,
When you think back on your favorite days catching bass, is there a common structure that comes to mind?
For instance guys that fish rip rap all the time, or flipping wood, or open water, or certain type of vegetation, or following the lake bottom stucture?
For me, most of my memories for some reason is catching a bass that is behind a log or near usually biting on a jig or craw or worm,
And I know certain conditions only exist in dif parts of the land, lily pads here, docks and boats there , etc

Sounds like you're using the word "structure" to mean "cover." Virtually everywhere I fish, the predominant cover is vegetation, so I guess that's my favorite. Within that category, I especially like lily pads and duckweed. When fishing over submerged vegetation, I'm sorry to say that I usually don't know one kind from the other.

I have had my best luck around fallen timber. I have caught some around docks, but when the docks aren't producing it seems as if I can always depend on those logs that are around the banks.

DOWNED TREES!!! (Thank you very much Charley, Frances, and Jeanne.) I can catch good numbers of fish in almost any condition when I throw a senko or spinnerbait around them. I may not get that great of size by using this method, but I do get the numbers. Its a great way to catch a quick limit.

Cypress trees...nothing better especially if there is moss at the base, sure thing. Flip a worm or tube or spinnerbait works

Nice covered shoreline of hydrilla, especially coming off the end of a deep canal into the main lake. 8)

If I had to say 1 piece of cover, it would have to be timber of any sort. I actually would prefer to fish any HEAVY, and I mean HEAVY vegetation. However during the ice out, and late fall, there isn't much vegetation, so the fish are attracted to the other availble cover, which is timber. Now for structure I prefer to fish either old creekbeds or roads

In LA/TX I fished alot of hydrilla which was my favorite but there is none up here in NC. Therefore, I think that I have the best success on rocks. Not the rocks that are placed, but the natural stuff that extends out into the water. Ths all can change season by season, depending on how I do and in what conditions. Next year it might be timber, or ledges, or points etc....

When I was learning all the basics of fishing I had days and days that turned into years upon years of practise fishing at my neighbors pond that was full of bluegills an yellowbelly catfish. Over the following years I was able to weed out the cats, and replaced them with cats from paylakes , or bass from anywhere we fished that day , and then got some crappie in there.
All that time there were willow trees around the place but all vegetation everywhere. Lucky for me hydrilia regenerated there and it really taught me something about bass and their ambush tactics through out the day, almost always taking advantage of shade.
the only downfall was that I was so used to fishing grass beds a crankbait freaked me out , cus all you'd ever get on a retrieve was a worn with a afro.
After hitting the big lakes I learned to adapt to the pond somewhat.
