Default A new pond!

I found a new pond, it is insanely clear. I was watching little bass take my worms. Saw one about take my spinnerbait off the line. It gets very dark towards the middle. Not muddly dark, just like black dark. Does this mean that the pond is relatively deep? And if the little ones are up shallow, would that mean that the bigger ones are deeper.

I would have to venture to say that the dark spot in the middle would be deeper water.

As for the little bass, how little are we talking, more than likely those are some of the new hatchlings that have grown. Since the lake is so clear I would bet the "bigger' bass are deeper, but I would also find and cover you can and see what it holds.

I can only go so deep from the bank. and cover, there is cover all around the edges of this pond. The problem is getting to them effeciently.

Well, look what the cat dragged in ;D. Where you been, Trav? Good to see you!

I think it probably is deeper where it gets dark. Try a C-rig-you can chunk one of them a long way.

Dropshot this hole and you should try finding a creek channel if there is one. Use light line like 6lb and you will get more bites in the clear water.

Glad to know I was missed. I drop in from time to time. But with warm weather business has really been picking up. A drop-shot from the bank. Is this possible? I am going up there tommorow am. A buddy got one the other day off a c-rig. Wasn't very big though. I'm hoping the bigger ones are down there somewhere. From what I understand there is a vast population of bream in there too. That should be a good thing right?

Trav, you can dropshot from the bank-work it the same way you work a C-rig. Â*The difference is when you drag the weight the bait is in front of rather than behind it. If you are dealing with weeds on the edge I'd use a small worm hook and rig it weedless. If bream are the main forage stick with bream colors-watermelon or green pumpkin with some chartreuse in it.
