Default a canoe too far???

I didn't think that you could ever take a canoe too far, but chris keene is quickly proving me wrong...lol. Trolling motor, battery, depth finder, live well, wheels, rod holders, and these foam stabilization things on the side. Heck, I can't complain, its the nicest canoe I've ever fished from...

When I was fishing Lake Peirce in Florida earlier in the year I saw a canoe with a tiny outboard on it. I was in my 25 horse Sears duck boat, and there was a guy in a TR 21 just a few feet over...and this guy in the canoe decided to leave.

He cranked that little motor up, was on plain in record speed and hauled *** at around 30 or so mph I swear! Crossed the lake in a blink of an eye.

I looked at the guy in the Triton...he looked at me...and at the same time we both said..."That guy has the right idea."

I watched him speed off into the distance, in awe of his ingenuity.

That's called a Gheenoe. They're pretty popular around here...

And the best thing is I ain't done yet! Now its got its own parking spot in the yard instead of hanging on the fence and it will soon have a sail, name, and gotta do some glass work on it.

A sail? You going for a long trip?

Actually it's a pretty good Idea. A drift anchor is a great, easy improvement to make....
