Need some input. Has anyone used Berkley Vanish line and if so what is yor opinion of it. Also, has anyone used the bass pro shop nitro crankbaits and if so what is your opinion. Looking at these baits on the catalog and they look good. As far as flurocarbon line I have been using Silver Thread, but was wanting feed back on the Vanish. Thanks for any info.

SCOTT,
IMO Berkley Vanish is too brittle. I just came back from Texas with a buddy that had spooled all his rods with new Vanish. He was fishing crankbaits where he shouldn't have been and got snagged a lot. In trying to get his cranks loose, he broke off a lot more than he should have on 14 lb test line. The only fluro material I have found that stands up is Cabela's leader material that is made by Seagar. I use 6 ft of it (either #15 or#20) on the end of my Power Pro braid and have straightened Gami and VMC 3/0 & 5/0 hooks without breaking a single knot or leader. JackL |

I just spooled up a rod with Vanish and really haven't had a chance to fish it yet.

i use silver thread to, i would stick with it. i don't like the bps cranks cause the 1st one i ever got i casted it out and got it back in and the bill was broke off and that was the same day i got it brand new and i wasn't bumping it off logs or anything like that. i guess it might have just been a defect in that one.
