Default What Should I use?

I plan on going fishing tomorrow morning here in Omaha. Weather is supposed to start in the mid 30's and get up to 60.

I'm fishing a small pond less than 1 acre, watter temp is probably mid 50's or less.

How should would you suggest I fish this?

I'd start out slooow-jig-n-pig, slow roll a spinnerbait, suspending jerkbait, and vary the retrieve-slow to fast, fast to slow and when you get a hit remember what you did and try to repeat it. The colder the water the slower you want to fish, but like all fishing it is trial and error.

I am with Reb on this one. You might also try deadsticking soft plastics.

I have got a suggestion you should try. Take a countdown rapala and fish the ledges. Cast it out and let it sink to bottom pull a little line in and let it sink again. If you are in a boat fish the ledges somewhat parralel to shore line. If from the shore try not to cast straight out but slightly down the shore line. This is good fishing tactic for turnover lakes.

I would use a small jig. Two methods on the small pond could produce. One is throwing it out to the depths and fishing for any stumps drop offs or ledges. The other is casting it parallel to the bank and swimming it back with twitches of the rod.

well i fished this morning from about 10:00 to 2:30 or so and came up with 6 largemouth, fishing from the bank of a 25 to 30 acre reservoir. Water temp was in the mid 40's but got up to about 51 today. Five of the fish were caught on A Strike King Bootlegger Jig (3/8) oz. in a green/brown craw pattern (w/ craw trailer) and a black/red same jig but with a black/chrome craw trailer. The 6th bass came on one of the last casts before i was ready to head home... caught on a Rapala DT-4 in firetiger pattern, all fish were 12-16" today! Hope you did well!!
