What, in your opinion, is the best soft plastic lure for shallow waters and docks? Lizards, Worms, Frogs, Minnows, Grubs, or Tube Baits. And what is our favorite brand name for soft plastics? Thanks

Kid,
IMO you can't beat the weightless senko in shallow water. Colors differ upon conditions, but you can't go wrong w/ the Yamamoto or Strike King Zeros IMO.

Best bait from that list you gave? All of them. Each will work given a certain set of conditions. Problem is figuring out which one to use when
![]() ![]() I find myself throwing soft stickbaits like Wave Worm Tiki Sticks and Yum Dingers more than anything.

I tend to favor the flipping baits, such as lizards, beavers and such, but I keep an open mind, and a few rods rigged with different things!

power worms and large tubes are hard to beat, and if you can find some 4'' rednecks "black" you'll have it made.

This is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG thread. Simply because everybody is going to have their own personal best.
Oh, I like the weightless zoom trickworms. I do however, hold a place near my heart for weightless senkos.

DO you weight the Yum Dingers? I fished one the other day and could not feel it at all, unlike a Senko.

You can if you want, but when you have the problem of not feeling it, is when you just watch your line really close. If you see it move, then reel down and set the hook HARD!!!!

4-6" are most common. Some use them that ate much bigger, but they are mainly going for big fish in big fish locations.

I like hand poured baits....I think they work pretty good..as far as the off the shelf stuff...zoom baits are pretty good and economical.....
I would say that for big worms powerworms are my go to.... I like the gulp stuff actually.... |

I don't. Weighting them tends to kill the action IMO.

My vote goes to weightless senko's, flukes or small 4" tx-rigged curl tail worms with an 3/16 oz weight and some kikn' bass! And flippin' a tx-rigged lizard is a producer in the right water.

Salt content makes plastic baits float, if there is none, Plastisol by itself floats. If you choose to use a hand pour guy, request that salt be added for sinking properties, or none for floating, and Lizards, have I got a Lizard for you, shame I didn't send a few last time
