I live between Brighton and Howell and try to get to several different lakes in the area. Last year it was mainly Kent, Woodland, Thompson, Whitmore, Lake Oakland, and of course Big and Little Crooked since that's where I live.
Since my in-laws live just outside of Gregory I get to fish with my father-n-law out of his jon boat in some good little lakes around there too. We fish South Lake, Joslin,Lake, Duck Lake, and our favorite for lots of fish is the one on this map just to the right of Duck Lake, it doesn't have a name: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=14...,0.080338&om=1 It is completely full of weeds and most people won't go there but it is wonderful for frog fishing. Most of the bass are smaller and there are a few big ones too, but there are a lot of them. This year I plan to get out on the Half Moon chain and Portage Lake: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=13...,0.160675&om=1 If you are interested in fishing with a club check out the one that I joined up with last summer: http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/...php?board=38.0 "EBA is a noncompetitive "fun club" aimed at helping us become better anglers when we do compete" Last year the Half Moon chain was on the list but it got canceled. This year there are some really good guys coming to fish with us. And right now there are more boaters than nonboaters so if you don't have a boat it is no problem. Where do you fish now? |

i fish in jackson county at lake columbia because my aunt and uncle live there. but once i get a boat or join a club i will fish more around our area. i heard portage was a pretty good lake. my neighbors have a pond that is pretty good sized and there is a few bass in there that i can catch if i cant go anywere else.
and by the way i went to dicks and it was only like a 13% discount on everything. but i expect that it will go up soon. i got some polarized sunglasses and some bubble gum worms and thats it. not that good of deal for so far away from me. i have a fishing store in sight of my house so i dont have to pay for gas there. i think that i will look into that bass club and see if i cound get in it and be a nonboater. it sound like fun and good practice. |

They are more of instructional or fun fishing events rather than competitions. Mainly this club is for people newer to the sport and that would like to get some time on the water and learn more. Normally we launch at a specific time and then fish for a while and meet up to discuss how it's going, switch partners, and if there is an expert helping us then he spends time on all of the different boats. I am really looking forward to getting out on Lake Saint Clair this year since I have never been there before.
If you want to come out it is best to talk to Tom since he is in charge of the club. I will PM you his email address. |
