Big brother program

Hey, I was wondering if any of you knew about the big brother program. I thought it was a fantastic idea ever since I saw it on the Wayans Brothers Show a couple of months ago. I didn't know it was actually an organisation after a superbowl commercial. Well, I'm really interested in doing this. I think it would be a great learning experience for us both. Who knows, may even get him into fishing (if it does happen). But there seems to be no age requirements... just a screening. Has anybody heard of or done this before?

I have heard of it, but never was able to do it because they never had one close to where I lived. If you can do it, then go for it. Lord knows there are some kids out there that need some kind of guidance and would benefit from someone teaching them how to fish and respect wildlife.

crank - big brother/big sister organizations are probably looking for
adults as role models, who have their own transportation and can spend some hours a week with a little brother or sister. there is an extensive background check made. and that be rightly so, i do not know the age requirement, but i would think one could browse the internet and it would tell you or anyone all they need to know. i have never heard anything bad or said about that organization. good luck.

I think you have to be over 18 or 21, my son did it for a couple of years for some kid in cincy.

You know I think I'd be good at that. I could teach kids the important life things that you need to know in order to be a Man, things like how to take your liquer, how to properly combine several curse words together to make a coherent sentence, and how to internalize all your failures so that the world wont actually know that you are crazy until the day you get even...

I am thinking of applying to become a Guardian Angel in my Town.The Guardian Angels are setting up post here in Bath, NY. I doubt I would be accepted since I Have prior multiple assault violations from the past, but I am thinking of applying anyway. For all of you younger kids out there, let this be a lesson to you,Think before you do something that you might regret later in life.

It is sad that my town has gotten so bad, the Guardian Angels are setting up base here to stay.I wish them Gods speed in turning the town around to the way it used to be before the Bath V.A. Hospital was established as a drug rehab facility. The police are in denial that there is a problem,although dealers are being busted on a near daily basis. Crack heads and prostitutes are in abundance, I can't even check the mail at the post office without being solicited by a prostitute, or a crack head begging for some change.P N J
