Default Recent Pictures from my website

Hey Guys, (and bassingurl?)

I've recently updated my website with some pictures of the home improvement projects I've been up to around the house.
If you'd like to kill a few minutes, take a look at the Latest News page and check out my concrete stamping gallery and acid staining prep work. There's also some pictures of BTL and I out on Lake Livingston on the Photos page

Here is a short cut for you:

I have heard about the concrete stamping... I had forgot that I wanted to look into it. thanks for reminding me on that subject..

Do you know if it can be done to a concrete slab thats already down? I was thinking of adding a small top layer (for thedesing) and stamping that.

I did my sisters patio, not only does the stamp and dye cost quiet a bit, you have to stamp wet conrete after it starts to set up, but not quiet hard yet. I wouldnt try adding crete to existing slab, unless you're going to add 4 inches minimum.

Well, your choices of stamping patterns will be limited due to the thickness of the top layer of new cement, but the answer is YES, you can stamp over existing concrete. It takes a product called Stampable Overlay and most times, special stamps or mats are required to do that. If you would like more info, check out my companies website.

Good Luck...

JB you are correct, you should have a minimum of 4 inch's when stamping, but there are stampable overlay products for thin layer stamping. Most folks will usually opt for staining their existing concrete instead of tearing out the old and putting in new and stamping. When you do decide to stain however, prep work is a must, the area must be clean and free of any lubricants or patrolium products, meaning...no oil, grease or anything like that. It's best to put down what is known as a micro topping over the existing and then staining the fresh topping after it has cured. I'll be micro topping my sidewalk soon I hope.

Well true, but when you get up there around fifty something, it's quite easy to find yourself nodding off when there isn't any action going on around you....

Besides, BTL was at the wheel, meaning we aint going anywhere fast....

Thanks this is going to be around an indoor pool. I hate looking at the grey crete. The staining option might be a better route. I have to worry about acid etc getting on the pool liner or into the water and causing damage also.... Things to consider I guess.

That concrete looks like hard work! I'm a Gov't worker, broke a sweat just looking at the pics

It looks really nice finished, though.
