Hey,
I just go a call that there is a guy from my club ready to fish the federated tournament tomorrow. So I jumped on it, so I will be leaving in a little bit. It is about a 4 hour drive for me. The tournament is on Buggs Island. The conditions that I know are it is they are calling drizzle all day, air temp in the upper 40's. Haven't found out what the water temp is, but I have heard that bass are being caught on jerkbaits and crankbaits in shallow water. If I had to guess, I would say the water temp may be in low 50's. Hopefully the results will be better than last saturday. I will let you know when I get back tomorrow evening or sunday. Zooker told me a couple of things a friend of his used a couple of weeks ago during a tournament, but if anyone else has any tips, that is up late, let me know. Wish me luck. Thank you in advance. I'd take some suspending jerkbaits,jig-n-pigs, and don't forget your long handles-drizzle in the 40's means a cold day. Good luck!

Kev, Frogg Toggs are great! I'd highly recommend getting the Pro Angles suit-instead of pants it comes with a bib that comes up to your chest. No cold surprises when you bend over to lip a bass if you know what I mean

![]() Well, it was another disappointing day of fishing. It was coudy and temp was in the upper 40's. The water above 49 degrees. This time I did catch a fish, only problem, it wasn't the right species, it was a pike. The boater I fished with, managed one 2lb bass and a pike. A couple of other guys from the club managed none or a couple. One guy from the club managed 9lbs and another 17lbs of bass, he got 3rd. There was about 80 boats there, and I had a good time, even thought I didn't catch any fish. The condition have just been very tough for the 1st club and the first federated tournament. However, our next club tournament is at the same place as this past weekend, only I think the conditions should be quite better, I am thinking the water temp will be mid to upper 50's. The next federated tournament will be on Lake Gaston at the end of april. I will get them next time, the conditions and fishing should get better, can't get much worse. Kevin |

I hope Gaston is doing well as far as the fishing goes. Were going up there to practice for several weekends and then our club fishes up there in the later parts of the month. Good luck.

Hey bassnman30,
We go back to Buggs on 16 April for our club tournament, then again on 7 May for another Federated tournament. We go to Gaston on 23 April for a Federated tournament, the again on 21 May for the club tournament. I am hoping things will go better on the one at buggs and the rest after that. I have heard that fishing at Gaston has been pretty good all through out the winter, and should only get better with spring coming. Good luck at Gaston's Kevin |
