hey guys. went fishing today to see if i could catch a few more fish before trout season. i started out with a red shad colored senko at first and hooked a fish on my tenth cast. it felt like a keeper. unfortunately it spit the hook half way to shore and i never saw it. feeling bummed, i continued along the shore without any bites. i come to a big laydown and get a bite but miss the hookset. i went back to my first spot where i lost the fish and put on a green pumpkin yum dinger. my first cast in this area is to the spot where i hooked the fish and as soon as i twitched my bait, it took off. it fought very good even for a small fish. it ended up being a little over 13 inches. i also had a 3 foot koi within 10 feet of me. i thought it was a spackel bucket in the water until it moved lol. i saw a few koi cruisin up and down the one side of the pond. i also saw 2 trout on the way into the pond. ill get them next week
