As most of you know, my first tournament was this past Saturday. I didn't catch any fish, but neither did most of the people fishing. I did have one bite though. Not that that matters. There were 25 people fishing, and only 5 people caught fish. Most everyone didn't even get a bite. I don't feel so bad, that I didn't catch anything, because hardly anyone caught anything.
I threw everthing I had with me. Crank baits, spinnerbaits, plastics, etc. I fished as slow as possible. Matter of fact, if I fished any slower, I would have been going backwards. All I can look forward too is Buggs Island is coming up next month. I am hoping to fair better there. From what I hear, it is a great place to fish. If you were wondering, We didn't find any water above 47 degrees, it was high tide when we got there. One good thing to come out of Saturday, was I got a lot of practice in with my baitcaster, which I desperately needed. Better luck next time right. I will get them next time. Kevin |

Tough break. With water temps. that cold it's pretty hard to get aggressive bites. Good thing you got a bit more familar with the baitcaster. That's always good.
Just curious as to what the winning weight was? Did you happen to strike up a convo. with the winner or overhear how he/she patterned the lake? |

Don't worry Reb, I will keep on chunking. I might of been a little more upset if everyone caught fish but me, but hardly anyone caught anything.
Hey IMhooked, the winning weight was 8lbs a few ounces. He had 3 fish. One also won big fish( almost 5 lbs.) I didn't get to talk to him, but i don't think there was any pattern to be found on the river. A couple of the other fish that were caught, were caught on rattle trap and spinner bait. |

Kshort,
You will get them next time. We don't always catch fish every trip either. I still would rather be fishing than sitting at home. Sandra : |

Hey Lizards,
If condition are like that again, I would try something different, but I think I threw everything I had at them last time. I am just waiting for next month. |

Just stay focused. I believe if you throw the baits you have confidence in the fish will come.
