I haven't used one but have heard they sometimes have a problem with debris clogging them up.

Wait a few months and you´ll see why we said not to waste your money, with gunk getting all over and clogging the inside of the rod .... ah, be careful with that threader, you loose it or break it and you´ll need to get another rod.

Shhhhhh. You'll embarrass the no-maintenance crowd. I have a chum who bought a couple of them when they first hit the market. He frequently flushed them with a warm soap solution, rinsed, thoroughly, and had no problems (until his GF broke all of them with one misstep.) I'd advise NOT using braided line, however, just guessing that braid might groove and weaken the rod from the inside. The great Ray Bradbury once wrote a short story, well before the advent of the "inner cast" rods, that I thought of when I first saw one. It seems this city slicker arrives at a remote spot, somewhere in the southern swamps. He hires an old swamp rat as a guide and they go off into the wilds in an old boat. When they reach a likely spot the stranger opens a box and takes out an odd-looking rod...no guides, no reel, just a little keypad dealie where the reel should be. He takes a "plug" from the box and just touches it to the tip of the rod, to which it sticks ala magnet. He points the rod to the target spot and presses a button. The "lure" flies, no line attached, to the spot and begins "searching" in the water. Soon, a large bass is hooked. The stranger presses another button on the rod grip and the fish is transported to the boat. The old man watches silently as the guy catches bass after bass, one on every cast. The guy tells him he's gonna make a bundle with his invention. The old fellow, realizing what this will mean to the resource and the sport, waits until the other man is looking away, takes a gun from somewhere in the boat, and shoots the city dude in the back of the head. He leaves the body for the 'gators to enjoy then disposes of the tackle. The first time I saw an "innie" with a lure reeled to the tip, I thought of Bradbury's tale...spookeeeeeeee ![]() The Ghost of FlyRod |

Easier said than done, some debris will be easy to be blown away with compressed air, but not everything you´ll encounter ( like algae ) is going to be easy, once dried ( and it is going to dry ) it´s going to stay inside the rod forever and ever and it´s going to accumulate every fishing trip.
Why do you think they don´t make them anymore ? ![]() |

You having one in your hand yesterday does not mean they still make them, it means they have an inventory that has been sitting in the warehouse for years. Last year BPS still had Daiwa´s Innercast rods in the clearance bin and the rod had been discontinued from Daiwa for more than 8 years.

A Good Rule Of Thumb For "different Tackle" Is If There Are No Pros Using It Chances Are Its Not That Good.

Until they reveal it years later as one of the 'secrets of the pro's' when one of the companies pays them to say so

What in the world? You asked for opinions, got them, and are now name-calling?
Good luck with your rods. |

if you are going to ask for opinions dont get mad at them. if you like the rod great. but in my opinion you could have spent that money wiser.

If you like the rod that is all that matters, you are the one using it, different people have different opinions......some like shimano reels some dont and so on........dont let what other people say change what you like, if you like it go with it!

![]() F. Rod Armchair Child Psychologist[/quote] Flyrod, rotflol!!! What do you expect? Seems akin to buying a Yugo and asking if the car is any good. Perhaps we should ban Bush, warm weather, and Pac Man. |
