What it the water temp? This time of the year that is the critical factor.

In that case I would recommend 2 baits: A jig-n-pig slow around cover and a suspending jerkbait like a Smithwick rogue or an X Rap fished extremely slow.

BFG- no i havent tried the H & H spinnerbait, i dont even know where to find one around here. Can you post a picture showing the spinnerbait?
PNJ- The pond is around 12-14 ft deep in middle, The banks on the one side are supper shallow like 3in -3ft deep in some spots, but the other side has a bretty deep drop off, about3-6 ft deep. Water Clarity is murky. Also, what color tubes, i have blue black speckle, white black speckle, and black red speckle and pumpkinseed. What colors would through, also i could go out and buy red ones real cheap. |

An H&H spinnerbait is a small spinnerbait about the size of a Johnson beetle spin lure. Thanks to BFG I now have some ,but never seen them before, they have got ot a killer crappie bait in the springtime. Don't go out and buy any more baits ,the ones you have will work fine.I like pumpkin color but they all will work. You are right though, red does catch fish in the spring time but so does all of the other colors. ;D P N J
