Finally! I did it! I caught a my biggest peacock ever! My previous biggest was 5 pounds. I caught it on an 8 weight fly rod and 15 pound tippet. I caught this one on a 4 weight fly rod and 10 pound tippet.
The fish was about 19 1/2 inches long, so I figured that there was no way it would be that big. I couldn't believe it when I saw the 6 lb chatillon scale drop. It was a slob, and I wish I would have thought to measure the girth. 5 pounds 2 ounces on a 4 weight fly rod. ![]() |

Thanks everyone! I was in the Keys over the weekend, so I haven't been on in a few days.
JRL, the fish was only 19 1/2 inches. I measured it before I weighed it, and that is why I was so surprised when I read the weight. I wish I would have measured the girth because it was a slob! |
