When I was a kid and writing songs for various bands I used to make generic copyrights by mailing myself the songs and not opening them. They'd have the postmark on them so I could prove when I wrote it (as if they were hits!).
If you wanted to raise a stink over it, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to prove when you came up with it.

Just goes to show how all the big posters on these boards are larger than life public figures. All our lurking fans are hanging on every phrase we coin, every joke we make - and exploiting us with websites, or stalking us (I've had to change the lock 3 times this week), or using our patented techniques while fishing. There have even already been 3 bastard children in mexico named after our friend zook, and these aint even his bastards!
