Stren, Trilene and Sensation are dated on the spool label, not the box. At the bottom of the round label on the spool itself you will find firstly...a letter...this is the Month. A=Janurary, B=February, C=March and so on. The next will be the day of manufacture in number form, and then one single digit for the year....7 being 2007. I was told by one representative that you should never buy mono more than two years old due to storing in heated conditions or the possibility thereof.
There is one more digit added at the end of the date, that is a manufacturer's code and need not apply. Picked up a spool of trilene XL last week.... D-21-7-I.....thanks Wal Mart! Hope this helps, and good fishing, Mac ![]() |

I never dated a monoline, but I did once date a girl with mononucleosis. Luckily, one can only contract it by kissing, and that's the one thing we didn't do.
