I fish a number of ponds and lakes and my area and I have come to the conclusion that there are certain ponds that produce fish that just straight up fight harder than fish in other bodies of water.
For example a 2.5 lber I caught from a shallow farm pond worked me about twice as long as a 6.6lber I caught in a interstate pond about 10 miles away. The thing about it though is that regardless of this incident I consistantly see more fight out of the fish from this pond than any other body of water in the area. Anyone else ever experience a certain body of water producing harder fighting fish?

fish in the river fight alot better, you catch on out of the ohio river and think its 4 lbs till you see its only a 12 inch dink lol, they are alway pulling water on the river between the locks, makes for a lot of fun in the creeks

Depends on the health of the fish. If he's got a skinny body, then he may not fight as well as a bass of equal size with a bigger girth.
