Default OK, I'm sold

Flyrod and I hit our local electrics only lake this AM-launched about 5. We headed for the dam eying bright white flashes in the west caused by thunderstorms. No thunder and they stopped pretty quick, so we figured we were good to go. I started throwing a 3:16 Mission Fish swimbait but no takers. So, I decided to switch to a soft stickbait. The first binder I grabbed had Senkos in it-the original. Rigged up a watermelon/pearl laminate 5 incher weedless and weightless and threw it up next to the bank. Started to pull, it felt heavy, so I set the hook-nice little dink. Next cast-same thing. Third cast-same thing, except this one felt a little bigger. Pulled it out into open water and KNEW it was a little-make that a LOT bigger. Played tug-of war for a few minutes and I lipped this:

We figured about 6-my digital scale was all over the board so we guesstimated, and yes, I realize my eyes are closed-saw that after she was safely back in the lake. I managed 13 total, and all but 1 came on that watermelon/pearl Senko. Threw an identical Yum Dinger amd no takers and started catching them again when I switched back, so I'm sold-at least today the Senko outproduced my usual Tikis and Dingers. Flyrod had a good day as well, including this toad:

Actually, he did have a nice 3 pounder on his favorite ringworm-I just posted that to show you guys that wonder about bait size that even tiny fish will hit big baits-this particular one is a Super Spook Jr. He ended the day with 11. All in all it was a good day, and I learned that all they hype about Senkos isn't just hype. They flat catch fish.

Great Fish Reb,
but don't you think that Flyrods coffee may be a tad to strong for
a young buck like you?

Thanks, JB. I usually make the coffee, and I like the stuff that can float an egg sinker so Flyrod has to put up with the stuff I make.

Thats a beauty Reb. I'd love to get into the mind of a bass and find out why one brand of what appears to be an identicle lure works over another brand that particular day. Sounds like you two had a ball. Think I'll pass on your coffee though.

I wouldn't say funny, I'd say better though.

senkos and yum dingers and tikis all fall at different rates.that's why sometimes one works when the other doesn't.

The Senko is the real deal. I have turned so many of my friends into believers. They always start out being stubborn and wanting to use their lucky lures. Then they see me catch a few and finally give in. Once they land one on their own, their just as hooked as the fish they caught. I have said it once, and I will say it again........If the fish arent biting the senko, they arent biting.

I am going to test that theroy this weekend. I am going to try using a senko in an area that I have had alot of trouble with. Its a little stream off of lake michigan that is only about 50 yards wide but has alot of lilly pads. I have tried spinner baits, and swim baits but never a senko and I see alot of people really like this bait so I am willing to try. Do you think I should go weightless and throw into the pads with a very strong line or ust to the outside of the pads? I think I might try useing a frog across the top this time also. Lets hope the senko can produce....

Its about time Rebasser, hard to beat those Senko's. They can copy them all they want, but they aren't going match there fish catching ability.

I just hate that I can only catch 1-2 Fish off of one before they tear up beyond use. They cost to much for that IMHO but I will be honest In the lake next to my house I cant get as many bites on the Tiki stick as I do the Yammamoto Senko...The Yum ones work just as good though.
