OK folks, so my vacation has been moved closer, and now I will be headed to India on Wednesday. Last time I went, I got skunked, unless a catfish the size of my finger would count for anything. Of course I had no idea what species I was fishing for, therefore just throwing everything in my tacklebox in every size or color. Then I realise carp and catfish are the predominant species... Lures wasn't a smart choice. After digging through a few posts, I pretty much figured out what my strategy would be.
Bringing the Ugly Stik. I will never risk my St.Croix to the airport. I will probably be using 12 pound test. For the carp I'll be using a small hook with some corn. I will probably chum the day before, sink a can of corn with a few holes in it. I'll be using a bobber, i suppose. For Catfish, I might be using a circle hook with a chicken liver. I'll wrap it in nylon to keep it on the hook. Sound good? Any tips are much appreciated, thanks.

Dont Chum The Night Before Do It Hours Before. Other Than That That Sounds Like A Good Plan. Catfish And Carp Get Big In Asia I Understand So 12 Lb. May Ge A Little Light. You Could Prolly Use 30 Or 50 Lb Braid. Good Luck

Yeah, I was looking into Mahseer last time I went. We actually do live right by a river that has them, and chances are I will take a week to target them. I suppose I will have to go buy some braid. Powerpro? I haven't paid much attention to braid...
Bassfisher02, I am thoroughly convinced that there are no bass in India. I hit atleast 6 different commonly fished bodies of water and not a single bass. Plus, there is no bass in the fish market.

Don't bring back any of those nasty snakeheads. I believe those fish are native species in India.
