I am in the market for a new trolling motor. I was thinking stern mounted. I have a 14ft. semi-v boat. I am a pretty big guy and standing in the front of the boat is ok but cramped. I was wondering if using a stern mount would suit my needs as the back part of the boat is more stable and roomy. The bow mount I have now is an antique but it works. Also it collects tons of weeds and I have to clear it often. Any help or thoughts, pro or con. Thanks.
Bob

First of all, this post would most likely feel more at home under the Boat thread of the forum.
With that being said I cannot provide you with much help in the area, but what I can say is, in this day and age you can have your trolling motor mounted on the bow, and still control it from your favorite location on the boat, wherever that may be. Its something to do with being able to ented the pedal to the desired location, someone here will know what I'm talking about, I'm not too keen on all this technical mumbo jumbo that i'm trying to explain...
