Default Starrett Pointe Weekend

Fourteen fisherman where my guests at Starrett Pointe this weekend. Friday saw eight fisherman up the Dragon Swamp for some evening fishing. Lgmouth had lockjaw from full moon phase. Chuck gets a nice grinnell (bowfin) cypress trout ect.

Not a good pic due to tangled lines as it wiped his arse..
Next day Saturday we had 12 fisherman and up the Dragon we went. Way up to connect on several sets of doubles and lots of pickles.

Doubles.....

Chuck connects with a fiesty LGMouth

Steve had just had surgery and while in the recovery room got a bad case of the slugo cold.

Slugo's dripping from the nose can be very ugly..
Here is Charlie and George in a Bug Boat (Bumble Bee)

Wow Sunday comes and we have a full on 12 fisherman up into the Dragon and I decided to jump boat onto Daves Bug Boat (another Bumble Bee). Now Dave says right off the bat that he does not leave many LGMouth behind him. True to his word he gets a limit ten minutes after I board.

Later he gets another one way up the Dragon

So we take pic of another pair taking a pic of a fish

My fishing partners will not let me back on the boat and due to that I only catch one little LGMouth..

Fishing was little off but in total with five boats we got about 47 LGMouth and 24 pickles. OH and two grinnell..
One of the partners named Tony and his brother went out croaker fishing and filled a cooler with croaker , blues and trout.
The best fish went to Jeff with a five spot red drum. He won won the red drum spot count. Other fish caught where 24 inch stripers under the lights late at night and a skate at the dock. The shark trip was a bust when I hit a crab pot. Scared me to hurt my new boat.

It was a great trip.
Next year we will ????

the fish around here are about the same size and not biting well.
I hadn't seen a black worm with a pink auger tail in years!
Thats all we used in the late 80s, they still and always will work!

The hardest thing to find is the Charlie worm..

I use a lot of Ketchum ring worms but even those are scarce now..

Capt,
Thanks for the trip. Only place I know where you can catch blue crabs, skate, spot, croaker, red drum and catfish from the same dock and then make a short run and catch bass, bluegill, crappie, striper, perch, bowfin, pickerel, and catfish. I'll post a couple of the pics I took soon.
Sorry about not leaving you many fish!!!!

Maybe someone can help find a few "Charlie" worms. We're looking for a 4" Electric blue ring worm with a pink tail. If you have a source that can make a few up we have a buyer looking for a few thousand.

So JB, looking for a black/pink worm?? Our local Meijer sells them. Bass Assain makes them. Made with pork fat and they are P Enzyme enriched..

ROTFLMAO. It's another Super Walmart type store. We had them in Indiana, but haven't seen any down here, just Wallyworld

Here are some pics of Dragon Run. As you can see there are plenty of good looking areas to fish.
The one pic of Capt. Mike is when he stated "They're just about to turn on." which of course cursed him for the rest of the trip up the Run.
Last photo is of a nice croaker that was caught on our "Shark" trip. It's nice when the fish are bigger than your cutting board.

For those of you who have never fished this river or are looking for a fishing adventure - contact the Capt and he'll put you on some fish.

Never abandon a boat to a boat with out a seat...

Just some sage advice..

Capt
How's that F.P.C. (fish per cast) average these days???? Took a beating that day! And don't be blaming the lack of a back seat. I've got one but I don't have a use for it on the front of the boat. My partners always have the option to fish from the front of the boat with me. Some choose not to and pay the price! You were warned.
Thanks for the trip. I used your BCD bait this weekend and caught a nice 2lb bass (Charlie should have the pictures posted on the NHBA site) on it in a grass bed in the Occoquan. Caught another on the Potomac Blue Paca Jr and one on the same Baby 1.
Senko's caught two limits out of Mattawomen on the grass edges that ended up taking 1st and 3rd place.
