Flat Rock Dam, 10-21-07
Texasfisherman and I hit FlatRock Dam, fishing below it on sunday in hopes of some big gar and possibly white bass. When we got there at 2 pm, I castnetted some perfect sized minnows. Within the first 5 seconds on Kyles minnow being in the water, this good white bass(or hybrid??) hits.
After that we get 2 small LMs, then its my turn for a white bass. right after that Kyle gets another white bass, but it is gut hooked so we cut the line and hope it survives There are gar, some big, 3-4 footers, snout slapping every now and then. I get one big pick up, but he drops it after about 30 seconds. Kyle manages the only gar of the day, and its a baby longnose. We faired well, even with some dumba$$ guys who were standing on a cliff above us throwing rocks in the water I dont know if these are hybrid or white bass, so correct me if any of ya'll know. I wish there were some big striper in here though tb |
