Default Reel Maintenance

OK Guys, so I took my reel, a Cabela's XZ Tournament, apart and was cleanin' it up. When I was taking it apart, these black, fiber-like disc things came out under the drag cap on top of the reel. They feel kind of greasy, should I grease them up again? Here they are, take a look:

No-do not grease them. Greasing them can cause them to slip.

Some reels/mfr call for grease on the drags some don't. I know Shimano calls for grease on their drags and mfr a special drag grease.

I put them back together and it runs sweet! Drag slips without a high starting power and runs nice and smooth. Can't wait 'til the spawn!

OK Guys, I have my Daiwa(Spinning)cleaned, and now I need to clean my Pflueger Supreme baitcaster. How should I go about doing this without taking it apart and losing pieces? I have never taken apart a baitcaster, so I need tips galore. By the way, it doesn't have the door on the side where you flip the lever and turn to take it off. It has screws on the left side. Also, it is left-hand retrieve.

Here are some pictures:

Tips?

Exclamation Help!

Alright Guys, I took the two(2) screws out, and the reel won't split. I didn't want to force it, so I came to you guys. What can I do? Bring it to a fishing store? Cabela's or Bass Pro?

LL, when you say it won't split is it that you can't get the side plate off and remove the spool, or you can't get to the gears? If you can't get to the gears look on the inside at the bottom. Some reels have a third screw you can't get to until you remove the spool.

LL, You need to take the side plate off the non handle side. There will bea lever to the bottom front and the cover will turn down to unlock.there are additional screws inside you will have to remove one you unlock the side plate and remove the spool. The next step is to remove your handle. Most pfluegers have a plastic cap snapped in over the nut.remove the nut, drag star and 2 washers. Once you have doen that remove the 2 screws and the side cover will pull off.Make sure you do ot lose the 2 little springs on the pinion gear assembly. They hide extremely well. P N J
