New Years Fishing Resolutions!!!
What's your RESOLUTIONS for fishing this year. I pride myself being a river rat. Many people here don't see the benefits of fishing for game fish on the Missouri River. The only fishermen that are down here only fish for Catfish. The mighty MO has alot more than that to offer. I want take advantage of the river this year. I want to fish the river & have more knowledge of it. These bass don't get much fishing preassure at all. Here there only maybe a handful of guy's are. I pride myself on knowing that 3 of the greatest hotspots are the opening of other rivers & creaks that spill into it. Shoal Creak,Fishing River,The little blue. But i am sure the old girl has alot more to offer. What are they & Where. This is my resolution is to find more HOTSPOTS in 08. This year i would like to make the mighty mo more popular. I want to share what she really is capable of to others. I want to show others what nevor realized that river is bass fishing at it's best. Way better than old Smithevile lake That's for dam sure & more of a challenge

Great resolution, my resolution would be kind of similiar, fish some different areas and fish some different baits. I definitely need to fish outside my comfort zone a little more if I'm going to improve!

I'm going to try different baits, especially the Drop Shot, Carolina Rig, and Deep PNJ's/Crankbaits. I also want to catch a few on my new Slop-N-Frog Rod.

I want to catch a few fish on different rigs. The main ones I ant to focus on are the Drop Shot, Cluster Rig, Carolina Rig, Deep PNJ's/Crankbaits, and Topwater Soft-Bodied Frogs, like the YUM Buzzfrog.
-Lunk- OOPS!

Overall I want to learn to use a depthfinder. Learning to identify high percentage areas to fish will be my number one priority this year. Also, since there are no maps available for my favourite lake, I would like to take the time to map it out the best that I can.
I want to be more consistent and thorough in keeping my fishing journal. In terms of lures/techniques, I will be spending time with crankbaits, pnj's, and learning how to properly "walk the dog". My current walk looks more like a 3 legged dog with hip problems....lol |
