I'm losing my mind because I need to fish for bass. I can't fix my boat right now because of money. I can't take a trip to a warm place. I can't ice fish because the ice is too thin. I hate fishing for fish from a bridge 20 feet in the air because it's just not fun. I can't hunt because I have no license. All of my stuff is organized. Everything is ready for spring. WHAT DO I DO?! There has to be something. What do you do?

Hey zook, as a tribute to you maybe I should launch my boat tomorrow too. It should be the easiest launch I've ever had, I'll just roll it out onto the ice and hop in for a great day of pretending to fish! ![]() |

Jools, take advantage of this down time to do some scouting for new locations to fish. Think of some lakes or rivers you've never been to but want to some day fish. Areas within a couple hours drive from home. Then take a trip to these locations and see what is there. Check out the boat launches, the area bait and tackle shops, stuff like that. Stop in those tackle shops and see if there is a map of the lake your interrested in fishing. Look for places to grab a quick bite to eat, or pick up supplies. Talk to a DNR officer if you see one to get feedback from him on areas where there has been success by other anglers. Talk to baitshop owners. There is an area right now that I am going to spend a day at just checking it out for this comming year. Once the season starts, you want to know any specifics about the location your going to that will make your first trip there go smoothly as poss.

I have an idea! Open up all your tackle storage devices. Then turn them all upside down. Then take a broom and make a pile. Them RE-organize all you tackle!
![]() ![]() Or not... You could play with the baitmonkey. Take him to BPS or Cabela's and have fun! BB

Wow, amazingly I did ALL of that stuff. I did take my tackle, dump it and make it a mess, and reorganize it; no joke. I did find one thing that may help me last until spring. LUCKILY, I have one friend who does like to fish. Fishing with him is a new thing and I think that'll help. We're going tomorrow!

Practice your flipping and pitching technique out in the yard. Have at it until the neighbors have you committed or at least drive by and look at you and shake their head. Make at least 100 casts of each technique and put out some targets. 5 pts if you make it in the soup can.

Lol. I have it practiced to perfection. We had a record high today and it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow so I'm going to this pond that should be about 3/4 thawed out. An early taste of spring...

Lol. I've done the whole can/cup/bowl thing with casting, but I learned you won't really need to cast up and let the bait fall. Actually, the reverse is true.
I have those visions too Bob. I didn't get to go today because of the tornado that was near by. ![]() |

Well, since it's been warm here, the ice is way to thin to ice fish and there is anough water on top of the ice to throw a buzzbait. It wouldn't surprise me if I started throwing one out there just to hear that gurgle gurgle...

WOW! Cabin fever starting early this year. I'll personally think of everyone of you when I go out Wed.. In fact I'll try to catch a fish in honor of each of you.

I don't know whether you're being honest and trying to help or mocking us with your 'i'll try to catch a fish for each of you' talk...
