How particular are you guys about your jig and spinnerbait skirts? Do you guys have a favorite brand out there or do you just use the ones that come with the baits? I think this year I'm going to play around with some things and see if it makes any difference.

Mainly, I like to use the baits that come with the baits. Strike King, Booyah, Outkast, Mann's, all have fairly good living-rubber skirts. This year though, I plan to buy a few new skirts (have to be living-rubber) to mess around with. Never know when a big 'ole pike'll come up and nab a bait!

starflash, or hydrosilk brand skirts are what I normally use to replace the previous skirt with.

I'm currently playing with Skirts Plus - The Sil-a-chrome skirts are very nice for spinnerbaits. The Barbwire PBJ and Black/Blue are very nice for jigs.
(By the way I'm selling them this year so I may be a little biased. There are plenty of others out there.) One thing for sure is that the ones you find at the store (2 or 3 in a pack) don't come close to the better skirts out there. |

for spinnerbaits i really like war eagle and booyah. for my jigs i like jewel and chompers. i am making my own football jigs and hope to add roundhead jigs soon too. so i am making my own skirts, and so far i like the way they are coming out.

I'm also a big fan of BOOYAH's skirts. They have held up all season for me. And I really don't plan on changing them any time soon.

I also use the strike king skirts. I wouldn't compliment Zook too much. Im not sure if I could handle his 6'6" frame walking around in a short skirt. JB insert picture here>............................................. .........

Here's a few skirts I just added to my product line (they're a little fuzzy when you zoom in on them).
Also found a few interesting baits to throw this year and I've modified them too (shhh!!! PnJ might be listening). |

I use Starflash. They come in various colors, but I like the white/gold flakes and the white w/silver flakes.

Got the silver flakes too. Very nice but the chrome stands out more and gives a much better flash in the water.
