Default Revo Premier

Just got my new Revo today. Sweet reel. This is my first light weight baitcaster. I paired it up with my St Croix Legend. I am going to use it for topwater baits. I don't know if you are allowed to mention web sites for fishing equipment or not but I found it for $199.00 and $8.00 shipping. They have Shimano's and Diawa's discounted also. If anyone is interested and it is alright I could post the site.

I picked up a Revo S last season while looking for a replacement for the Curados (I will not buy anything that says Shimano now). I have been real impressed with the Revo, and mine isn't anywhere near as nice as yours.

I bought a Revo S last winter. I love the reel. My only complaint is that when I palm the reel I like to rest by index finger on the face of the reel right below the line guide and the pawl rubs up against it as I'm reeling in line.

What's the gear ratio on this reel, Bob?

L-L the ratio is 6:4.1. BB144, if you can swing it go for the STX. I have the SX and STX. I like it a lot more. I seem to be able to throw any bait and not have to worry about backlashes at all. Bait N Hook has great deals on all the Revos. I am sure you will like the SX. Good luck.

Bassinbob, I'll have to check out Bait n Hook. Can you get me a website? I would love to spring for the STX, but with all the rods and reels I want to buy, I would be better of putting the other $40 into a different rod or reel.

That reel sounds good, but I don't know about Abu. I've heard some reels going to crap lately.

He said he didn't like the brakes system because it wont tighten up enough to fish in his style without getting back lashes every once and a while. he said the problem was on the long casts.

believe me i dont need any practice castin a baitcaster these reels are junk you need to step up and spend some real money and buy a calais, if thats to much then buy the new curado 100 or 200 series (basskickers brother)

Anybody used any of the higher end Daiwas? (not the Steez) How do they compare to the Revo's?
