Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn

Hello Everybody,

John 10: Verses 7-9

Then said Jesus unto them again: Verily, verily, I say unto you. I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

SAM RAYBURN: Well the weather is and has been warmer bringing the water temps up on the Lake. Saturday the water temps were about 49 at AM and warmed to 54 degrees by 3:00 PM.

Lake is about 5 foot low but in good shape in the Main Lake but Bear Creek arms is off color and murky. Needmore Point to the 147 bridge is great water.

Bass in the grass has been the most popular pattern lately with rattle traps as well as shallow running crankbaits baits pulling alot of sacks. Bass up to 9 lbs. were caught. Carolina Rigs worked from 6-15 feet have caught some great sacks also as well as Texas rigged crawworms and lizards. About 6- 10 bites being the norm but some real quality Bass with Big Bellies.

Good colors on crankbaits and traps have been the red crawfish colors with variations on bellies and backs.

Plastics have been favoring Green Pumpkins and watermelon Red on the Texas Rig and the Carolina rigs.

Black & Blue also Watermelon Jigs worked around stump cover and wood have produced some real Hawgs lately also.

The Biggest Bass of the year are full of eggs and are ready to come up and spawn. They will not wait for those fair weather days most fisherman think they will as soon as that water hold about 58 degress or higher the Biggest Bass will make a move to get those eggs out before the hordes of fisherman come upon the Lake.

February is probably one of the most productive double digit months for a Big Bass.

Bass can be holding in 2-6 feet this time of year and are very agressive unless on of those artic fronts is blowing in. Well good fishing and remember Jesus loves you and paid a great price on that cross to gice us the greatest gift of all. Salvation.

Just say Jesus come into my heart I believe you are the Son of God and an open door for me to come to the Father. Forgive me of all my sins and transform me into a new creature in you. Amen.
